“A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.” ― John Lennon.
The White Closet family has been happily growing for more than five and a half years in leafy West Didsbury, Manchester, where our bohemian and beautiful brides have found and fitted their dresses at our boutique.
The time has come to spread our wings and explore a little bit further afield, but the question has always been… but where?
After months of deliberation, research trips and countless dinner parties, asking our friends and families where they think we should expand to, we’ve come full circle and have our hearts set slightly closer to home in the gloriously creative city of Liverpool!
Based on Rodney Street in the heart of the city centre – just a stone’s throw from Liverpool’s beautiful Anglican Cathedreal. Brides can hop on a train and walk to see us or park directly outside its rows of majestic Georgian town houses.
220-year-old Rodney Street was laid out in 1783 by William Roscoe and features dozens of grade II listed buildings. The road has become popular with film and television companies in recent years. Historical crime drama Peaky Blinders was filmed on Rodney Street.
We are setting up our second home in a luxurious 1st floor apartment that glows with natural light through its huge sash windows and exudes old-fashioned glamour.
Brides will have the space exclusively to themselves at their appointment along with a fabulous experienced White Closet stylist to help with everything from underwear and dress right through to accessories and hairstyles.
The White Closet Studio offers a capsule collection of some of the most sought-after designers for the fashion-forward bride with an eye for something unusual and is happy to push the boundaries of being a bride.
Brides will find everything from a full sequined evening gown through to silky two-piece’s and lace jumpsuits.
Three of the UK’s most prestigious designers will be exclusively housed in Liverpool.
We are oh-so-excited to announce Kate’s Halfpenny London brand to our collections. Kate’s dresses are creative, fun and unorthodox. They play with new fabric techniques and challenge our understandings of hem lines, top openings and merge high-street fashion with bridal into an addictive world of ever changing styles and characters.
Brides who will love Kate: If you love clean lines, high collars, box pleats, layered silk/lace or simply want some luxury in your life.
We have been Jenny Packham addicts for more years than we care to remember and cannot explain our love for fully sequined and bejeweled, slinky gowns that show off the assets that mother nature gave you! These dresses celebrate the Jessica Rabbit inside us all or if you are more willowy these dresses will release the Erin O’Connor in you.
Brides who will love Jenny: If you are a glamour puss, vintage lover or appreciate a blouson top and bra-friendly dresses.
Charlie has been part of The White Closet family for many, many moons and we have adored her dresses since they were The Vintage Wedding Dress Co back in the day.
These dresses are for the fabric snobs who will ONLY have the most luxurious silks, chiffons, crepes and satins. We use a layering method to “build your own dress” that can be changed throughout the wedding day. Whether a bride is hunting for a floaty lace bohemian v-neck creation or a classic high silk neck with fringed skirt this is the designer for everyone.
Brides who will love Charlie: Fabric lovers, curvy brides, fashion conscious ladies who aren’t afraid to push the style boundaries.
We will open our diary late summer 2015 ready for your appointments to begin in September.
So please get in touch and book your appointments for brides getting hitched Feb 2016 onwards.
We’re already planning our glitzy launch, which will include a catwalk show, creative exhibition and party.
But more details on this soon…
Much wedding love and excitement,
The White Closet Ladies xx
